GCC Sunday Skipper asks “Has Goring got the T-Factor”?

Brace yourself – it’s T-Factor audition time…

Applicants Please

Tens of budding sandwich makers have been auditioning for the latest reality TV show “Tom Hedge’s T-Factor”. Many wannabe tea ladies turned up at auditions in the hope they could be the new Michelle “MiBo” Boden. Some hopefuls even camped out all night in the cold and wet conditions outside audition venues such as the Scout Hut, Goring Village Hall and the Wheel Orchard Car Park toilets in the hope of meeting cricket svengali, Tom Hedge. Storton Lodge was flooded with cake bakers anxious to bag a job making the teas for Goring CC’s Sunday home fixtures.

T-Factor host Stephen Wincott oversaw the first auditions of the new show. People were competing for the chance to win the £25 a week tea-making contract.

One of those who managed to get through to the next round was 68-year-old Eileen, of Cleeve Down, Goring who said: “At the moment, my only goal is to be judged by Tom because his opinion is the only one I have ever valued. He knows what makes a good filling.”

Eileen was auditioning for the first time and although she was not confident of going through, she hoped to follow in the footsteps of “Goring’s Got Sarnies” sensation, Jane From Tha Soashe.

“To be honest, I think some of the teenage ones auditioning have more of a chance with Tom, but when you see someone like JFTS, who makes the finest sandwiches, there is a chance,” she said.

Lucky hopefuls will prepare sample teas in front of the fearsome Tom Hedge and his co-judges, Quiche Grant, Will Brownie and Tom Fairy-Cake.

Further applicants/auditionees should contact Tom directly (“please”, he says).
