IDC: InDoor Cricket (Winter)

So what is this Winter Cricket malarkey, surely it’s too dark for cricket?

High paced, crazy but cracking fun indoor game. 6 players per team, 12 overs per innings, 60 minute extravaganza.

Where did we finish last year?

Let’s not talk about that

So we got relegated?

No, it’s not possible to get relegated from the bottom league. Let’s just say the only way is up

And you are still captain?

Yes. I threatened to run off to Australia with the 100 club money, so the committee had no choice.

What went wrong last year?

Lack of bowlers (4 out of 6 have to bowl) cost us when defending scores. It got that bad that I had to bowl a full allocation every week, and was one of the better bowlers. Oh and run outs, we had some shockers.

But wasn’t Hedgey playing?

Yes week in, week out. That was the problem

Most likely to hear?

Where the f**k is Brownlee???!!

Least likely to hear?

Nice line Hedgey

What are your expectations for the season?

Challenging for Promotion

Really?

GCC is really going somewhere as a club. We will bring the Cricket First approach in to the Winter League and I think we have a great chance to do well if we get some momentum going. And even if we struggle it’s still a superb evening of fun and exercise when the only alternative is staying in and watching the X Factor elimination show.

How’s the team looking for Sunday?

Coming together nicely but thanks to the short notice of the league we have not yet got the full 6. Your club needs you – contact Jonny today to get in the team.
