Hot on the heels of the highly-successful “Streatley Come Dancing“, Goring band and sole auditionees “Puffin” aim to win the inaugural [Goring] Goring’s Got Talent [talent] show. The band in their “very late thirties…” take stage in the village hall (the building that once had what appeared to be an “igloo” painted on its roof) on Saturday 12th November from 8pm until midnight. Apparently also featuring “Goring’s Finest DJs” (with the exception of one, of course *ahem*). Tickets are £3 for single men and £5 for a couple.
Upswinger spoke to Puffin’s backing singer and occasional GCC batsman, Andrew Markham:
“I am really hoping that GCC players come out and see the band on the 12th – in the same way I supported GCC this year”, Markham went on to harmonise, “ever since I was a young boy, I’ve played the silver ball – no the linoleum actually – and through the years I have progressed through kazoo and now onto the lead-triangle. We will have a cash bar so all GCC players will be well looked after. I am hoping to see The Beast and Jonny Russell headbanging at the front – and Winkers stage diving of course.”
