Academy T20

Firstly a big thank you to PJ in supporting the academy and giving the green light for them to play on Tuesday evening (30/7) after a not inconsiderable amount of rain.  On cue the sun came out for a fine 20/20, another close match saw Ed Gilbert-Blay’s team, holding back Sam Alexander’s crew 106 v 102.

Quite a few firsts, first skipper experience for the two above, first not-out for Samir “I think that’s the longest I’ve ever batted” Enright winning him Man of the Match-ball, First catch for young Finn Duvander including a broken and bloody finger nail which didn’t stop him from returning to the pitch after dad’s first aid and an impressive bandage, took one for the team!  First wkt for his brother Luca 1 for 4 from 1 over, first appearances for Toby & Jack Winterbottom (top scorers with 19 and 26 respectively), James Owen on “loan” from Cholsey, for the moment??? and David MacDonald.  A wicket(s) a piece for Ray Prince (2), Luca Duvander, Sam Alexander, Seb Smith, Jack Winterbottom and Bertie Spencer.
